Let me tell you I am as anxious and frustrated as you all "July 2 filers, no action yet" are. But I am thinking about it a bit calmly, rather than thinking of doing something so that I feel that I have done something (i.e. complain, write to congressman, etc.). Expressing my anger by saying they should have done this or that, does not change the situation. I believe USCIS is working, as expected, with the capability/attitude of a government worker, treating our filings (which are so important to us) just another government office paper work. Best is just to wait for another 10 days, and if nothing is heard by then, take action as per procedures.

One question to all the smart people on this forum:
In the old system, if EB1, Eb2 and EB3 ROW are current then "all" unused visa from all the EB category be given to which category first:
a) EB1 Non Row
b) Eb2 Non Row
c) Eb3 Non Row
d) None of the above
Now second part of the question is :
If that category already has enough people in line, will the spillover to the next category will take place:
a) Yes
b) No

I just got a call from Juria Jones, who handles immigration issues at Senator Arlen Specter's office-- 202-224-5225. She expects discussion on the comprehensive immigration reform sometime in February, not sure of the date.

Came to US in 1999
Applied for EB3 labor in July 2004
Applied 485 in July 2nd 2007
Waiting for EB3 dates for India
Mean time wife applied for EB2 NIW Self petition in March 2006 and got approved
Again she applied for new labor in Nov 2009 and applied for I-140 in May 2010 in EB2
Her new EB2 I-140 got approved in Aug 4th 2010 and USCIS ported the March 2006 priority date automatically
Yesterday she opened SR and today got the approval magic letter
Special thanks to immigration voice and all the immigration voice members

People who were skeptical before might join us next time and we might increase our numbers. This is just our first attempt. We can have a coordinated second attempt. By that I mean choosing another campaign day with IV Core. Please people don't start randomly sending things to USCIS. Let's work with IV Core and come up with a plan if we want to carry out a new campaign. If you have money to spare by sending random things to USCIS, please contribute to IV.

We should do 3 things for HR 5882 before end of this session.
(1) Call Full Committee and Local Lawmakers.
(2) Send Emails
(3) Send Letter And/Or Posters
These tasks are in priority order becasue we have short time and later one can take more time. So lets call which is real time. Emails are may be 1-2 days delay . And Letter and posters are 7-10 days delay.
Please call ASAP.
GO IV GO. In rememberence of Sep rally we should make Sep 18th as CALL DAY..

Hi,
This thread (forum as well)seems to be really enthusiatic abt the immigration reforms.
Keep it up! I am a new member to this forum who had been passively following the S1932 disaster on immigration.com forums.
Hopefully things may look better with the new bill sponsored by Arlen Specter.
The bill looks good but how do we know that it is this bill which will be discussed and not the other bills sponsored by senator hagel,mccain etc..
Question is even though this bill seems to be a consolidated effort of all the previous bills how can we be sure if this is the bill which will be discussed as part of immigration reforms in feb?
Also this does not have any clause for applying for I-485 before cut off date?
So the people who benefit through this bill are probably the Masters/Phd who can automatically adjust their status and the people who have not even applied for a GC ( since no labor cert required).
But for people who are stuck at their 1-140 waiting to apply for I-485 the only thing this bill helps is increasing the EB quota.
I am a EB-2 applicant (masters) and would strongly support this bill but i don't see how it helps EB-3 applicants as much unless we have the clause for applying for I-485 before cut off date.

I was double minded to do porting or not. Now I am considering it very seriously. Got a green signal from my current EMPLOYER to go ahead for EB2.

-Removal of diversity visa and reallocation of these. Since this is mentioned under EB, the implication seems to be reallocation to EB but am not sure.

Everything coming out of USCIS is a "I-797 Notice of Approval" :) and AP is no exception.
I am far from getting one myself but have seen colleague's approvals - this is printed on the same form like the H1 approval. Whether you subsequently need a stamp on the passport I don't know.

When they say May are they referring to May bulleting(coming in April) or the bulletin which is going to be released in May(which is June bulletin)?
