I don't find any place I can register. It only allows me to subscribe to the feed and create my own blog. But I am unable to get this blog in my dashboard list.
Has anyone checked out our Blog yet?

As much as possible I will also post a Tip of the Day on my blog postings (which will have links to recommended training sites)

So I read that the amendment for recapture has been removed from the funding bill. Guess we are back to the start again? This really makes me to start hate the fact that we are held as the hostage of illegals
Is this true? where did you read this? would it be possible to post somemore information. Does this mean we stop calling or we still need to call? I just read this thread and started calling.

I am little confused. As your wife is already in legal status (h4) till 09/2007, why do you want another extension when you switch job? As far as I know (I had similar situation in 2003), you can transfer your H1 to new employer and before her H4 expires, apply for extension with your new H1B (it may not be required even as she has already applied for H1). Once, I did exactly same when I switched job and I didn't had any legal problem with my wife/daughters' H4 extension.
Still I suggest you consult an attorney.
Best of luck.
Yes this is true. I changed employees. but i didn't apply for my wife H4. because it is still valid. I was thinking to apply for her extention 4-6 months before it expires.
to be confident just spent 100-200$ for counselling with immigration lawyer and he will give you the same advise.

A similar concern was raised during the CIS Ombudsman teleconference held on August 16, 2007. But nothing conclusive came out of it. Refer http://www.murthy.com/news/n_ombsci.html
"Other questions included the concern that time spent waiting for the adjudication of one's green card application is not being counted against the standard five-year physical presence requirement to qualify for U.S. citizenship."
Very good reference. I think we need to include this in our agenda for the phase 2 campaign.

Some of the interviews with USCIS officials on july bulletin feaso, noted saying "not waiting for security clearence" adjudicated the cases working overtime during end of June. I guess all this will play against and they are in deep trouble now.

I have to mail my application to cgi houston for my passport renewal. can anyone answer the following:
are they strict regarding the photo size of 3.5cm by 3.5cm?I have few old passport size photos of 2 by 2 inches and am thinking of using them.
Which address (India or US) should I mention in the application form?
Do I have to notarize my H1B approval notice and other documents that I mail to them?
thanks in advance.

a lot has been said about non participation from the region nearby to DC.
but this post is about something very different. i would like to highlight the
very important role that our members and volunteers from tri state and the DC area played in the rally. they worked against all odds and deserve sincere thanks.
tri state: this is the most dedicated bunch there is...singhsa3, chanduv23, tnight, siravi, mpadapa, mbartosik, poonam and many others worked tirelessly against serious odds to cover the region with fliers and motivate rally goers and contributors. i'm sure i'm forgetting someone...very sorry...tell me and i'll edit :-) tikka whose commitment to iv is always without question made it to the rally despite serious work constraints and always set an example for others to follow. singhsa3 unfortunately could not and we were only too glad to stand in for him.
the two buses from tri state were arranged by singhsa3 and mpadapa and were superbly managed by laborchic and GreenGrass...sounds like everyone had a great time! we are all confident that the tri state chapter will build over time and will be a force to reckon with- how can it not- it has the most able leaders and volunteers there are....
i have to confess to bugging these folks on a constant basis about spreading the message, in retrospect it was not needed in the least...they walked the talk everyday, took time off work, posted and distributed fliers, called members and did everything one could ask and much more. please join me in thanking the tri state chapter for a lot of hard work and endless motivation to our common cause!
and then the local volunteer team from DC/MD/VA, superbly led by a tireless guy who had a full plate throughout - nixstor! i think many rally goers missed how much work was put in by the local folks, they ran a host program- picked up and dropped from airports and put people up. they were ready and willing to do all asked of them starting saturday itself, and on rally day they were responsible for the whole operation- marshals for the rally and ensuring that after everyone departed the two grounds we used were cleared and cleaned as needed. having been there myself i cannot begin to underestimate how much work remained even after the rally was over. i hesitate to name...arun, girdhar and samir- i know, but there were so many others that worked- that i will let the local team chime in here. a special word for sukh- the man is just incredible. from arranging hotels to buying stationary to arranging flowers and flagpoles to helping with the gurudwaras to running the uhaul and the van..and not least getting more than 800 placards ready for the rally- his work never stopped. we all owe a debt of gratitude to the DC area folks who made this rally possible.
let's stop complaining about what may have been for local attendance and instead celebrate the tri state and DC area chapters for what they did do and what they will...for sure ...in the future as well :)

imh1b and snathan....i respectfuly request that you'll refrain from calling anyone names....there is no need to call people fool/drunk/moron. I am quite sure youll are educated professionals that can think of better ways to make your argument.
bitzbytz was merely suggesting ideas...no reason to diss them...unless you have tried these yourself and have statistical proof that it won't work in other cities in the country.
bitzbytz....so say you need convincing...fine...what questions do you have about IV?
As you can see its an organisation of volunteers...and there is no PR department :)
IV's main goal is to clear the green card backlog...do you share this goal and believe in it? if yes...then contribute...even if you fully don't agree with how IV operates or responds
As you are well aware there are not too many organisations pursuing this cause so you can either help this one...or sit back and hope that one day Lawmakers will out of the goodness of their hearts do the right thing...lol you know that ain't gonna happen...with IV you have a bunch of others co-ordinating towards pushing Lawmakers for change
StarSun...i'll help with both the tasks you mentioned. My lawyer already gives free advice in several LA univs so he might be interested in this.
My questions...says he is interested...what does he have to do to participate....is there a number to call for the conference call....or a special link where he has to go to join the chat? which thursday of the month is he needed...is this fixed or does it change every month?
To be honest i never visit the forum page unless i need to search for something and thats very rare....can we put up a link or an Icon with a tiny banner advertising the free lawyer phone call on the home page?
I am not sure if you are part of the campaign for 'Filing for I-485 when PD is not current'. We have explored all these ideas and even we put flyers all over the Indian restaurants and grocery shops. But not much happened. Even I have personally called people around five - six times and asked people to support. Though they are languishing in the GC line, they couldnt find any time to visit IV. What would you call a person when he is saying for various reasons not to meet the law makers staff in their local office? They are able to find various reasons for not to meet but couldnt find even a single reason and time to meet once but still questioning others work/ effort. Are they just making fun of us or do they just think they are doing a favor for others?
If one genuinely interested to work on the issues there are various ways to do that. Sitting and complaining about others is not going to help but just irritate others

In our state chapter meeting one of the idea "is to post ad in the local theatres where Indian movies are being shown" - I bet there are good potential members coming to the movies..
To post in local theatres, the state chapter members have agreed to pitch in and cover the cost rather than requesting from IV core.
Yes, thats a great idea. Apart from Ethnic Grocery stores.

We have had phone and email campaigns in the past. Phone campaigns work the best when a specific bill is being debated and there is the target 2-3 days campaign. The rest of the time, person-to person presentation is the best.
Yes, I'm in for person to person too. Will check the NY chapter.
The next step is to motivate others. Maybe persons would be more interested if we go out in small groups. Combine it with some other activity. Sometimes travel for chapter meetings can get tough for some, with families, could combine with skype.
There was also a hidden joke about outsourcing phone calls ;)

I arrived on Monday morning and met Paskal as he was going for meeting. Went to situation room and first met ever energetic gcs999. We went out for lunch with logiclife. And then start meeting people and I'll list them separately. Two of the most memorable days in my life. Thank you guys and gals.
Please PM me if you want any specific photos from dinner meet and rally. I took several photos and already shared in one of the threads here.
