I am pretty sure Apple has to refresh its iPod line for holiday sales or it is bye-bye stock prices and holiday sales.
The question is what will or can they do by november 14th. And it is very unlikely that it will be large video iPod. Heck, Zune has the same resolution as the iPod and i am not sure what the big deal is. It is not like adding 1" or 2" will make it all the better.

the temps haven't been that high (70C or under). i have changed the voltages, but maybe not enough. that's one of those things you have to play with.
but it looks like 2 of my rigs are down now. i might be driving back to fix them tomorrow night i guess. i'll put both of them back to 3.5 ghz and hopefully they'll stay stable.
my asus has been rock solid compared to the other 2 though. staying at 3.5-3.6 ghz
so i'm back at my apartment now, and i was wrong. the home built rig is still going! it's the asus and alienware that both restarted for some reason (probably a crash of some sort).
so that's somewhat good news. i've got the other 2 running again now, but we'll see how long it lasts this time.

anyone want to recommend me a good remote desktop solution for windows?

I would love to know what the worldwide figure is for Apple market percentage. I know it says here that its not in the top 5, hence no available data, but it would be interesting to see, particularly here in the UK, as the amount of people I know who have switched in the last year has been huge!!
I know Apple is doing well, but the problem is the Asian companies that are doing extraordinary in their markets continually kick Apple out of the numbers. You want to buy Gartner's report for MacRumors when it comes out :cool:

Actually I have seen a number of explanations on this thread from people who use Windows more than myself. The answer to why it is "7" does not seem to be well known even to Windows users.

well only 1 465 gtx. the other was just another 9800 GT. but when i run 3 of them in the same computer, one of them overheats - to 104C! but if i take one out, then it runs fine

that is a render. notice how the back isnt rounded, and kinda has those "pinches." those are from a bad loft in a rendering program. i do agree with that design. the next iPhone is going to defiantly resemble the iPad...but more so the 3G iPad. like the other said, the aluminum messes with the signal.

Would have liked to hear about a Leopard update; increase in capacity of iPhone and Touch; perhaps news of 3G support; hear more about the SDK; see some more cool iPhone app demos.
I like the Time Capsule though, as I'm looking for a back-up drive since Time Machine came along. I'll be picking one of those up.

I'm afraid the new Intel Apple is going to be the same as the old PPC Apple.
Apple, (in the past), always blamed slow implementation of new processors and long shipping wait times on low Motorola or IBM processor yields.
Now Apple doesn't have the same excuse with Intel but I bet we don't see a Merom MBP or an Octo-MacPro until MacWorld SF or later.
Anyone taking bets!I'm not betting. But I think the C2D MB & MBPs will come out before Thanksgiving November 23. I can see them holding out on the Dual Clovertown Mac Pro for dramatic purposes in the January 9 SteveNote. But they will be a full two months behind the shipping date if they do, which would confirm your fear which I can fully understand.
Seems like they have not figured out how to turn on a dime or have make a conscious decision to not try and keep up with the latest ASAP and just poke along to the beat of their own weird drum. I can confirm these are indeed the prices you will see. As for other details, none have been given. I'm sure we'll be told the details just before opening, such as what discounts can or cannot be combined by customers, etc. Expect all new signage in the stores, as well as a switch from the traditional black shirts to bright red shirts which display a product on front and a clever saying on the back. iPod, iPod Shuffle, MacBook & iMac will be the variety you'll see.
Also of note...if you bought recently (in the last few days) and want to get in on the dicounted prices, bring your product back in and plead with the store managers...they have the authority to return and re-ring the sale with the discount sans any restocking fee. Of course, they also have the right to be jerks and say no.
One last thing...don't plan on getting much attention from the Mac Specialist tomorrow, they'll be busy ringing out sales. Know what you want and get in line. They've been building stock for the last few weeks, but some items, such as iMacs and MacBooks are in limited quantities. (Perhaps 30 of each model in stock...maximum)

Technically I started with Panther, but I bought a Mac Mini like the day after Tiger was released so it came with an upgrade disc. I figured I could try out a Mini and see if I could use a Mac full time and well...
2005 Mac Mini -> 12" PowerBook G4 (last generation) -> 2nd Generation MacBook (black) -> 15" MacBook Pro (2008 Unibody) -> 13" MacBook Pro (last generation).
I ran Tiger through most of that span. I never felt like dropping the money on Leopard and finally got it with the MBP. I did, however, upgrade to Snow Leopard on day 1. I've been pleased with every upgrade and look forward to Lion.

the distribution rights are totally different for movies.
when a tv show comes out in the us the uk channels buy the rights from the us companies and this often means we don't get the shows in the UK for ages. and they don't come to ITunes in uk as it would be for apple to negotiate this with the uk tv company like channel 4.
some films are released internationally at the same time and so are the DVDs thus there is no reason why these films can't be released on an ITMS in the US, UK and wherever else the DVD would be released worldwide on the same date.
my cousin's an itunes lawyer working nr regents street store in london so she was explaining about tv shows to me....i'll try find out about the probs with movies if indeed the ITMS is released today and not in the UK.

Yes understand what you are saying but movie distrubution outside USA is only likely to make the situation worse than the current TV show problems. For example a film distrubuted in America will very likely be distrubuted outside by a different Studio, making any foreign rights to show the movie even more complex. Also dvds generally are released much earlier in US than in europe so a movie available in US say tomorrow on a hypothecical US itunes may not be available to release for download for months on a EURO itunes even if there are no problems with the already mentions foreign distrubution rights. The only reason I complain about this situation is I am perfectly free to import region 1 dvds into the UK to watch for my own personal use (which I have done for many years) so why cant I download a movie or show from Itunes, what exactly is the difference using this example ? Also annoying is that in the UK 10 meg internet lines are now very common (and likely to increase in speed in the next 12 months) so the structure is there already for a download service to succeed (also in most EURO contires like Sweden who have led the way with internet connection speeds for years)
I'm still like a crack whore waiting for a fix anticipating the news though lol

Doesn't the status bar look taller? I remember a thread on here talking about how they overheard engineers discussing iOS 5 and that was one of the things that would be different. I just ordered this cable for my 2011 Soul so that I can access my iPhone's iPod through the steering wheel controls/stereo (iPod menu displays on the stereo). It also charges the iPhone/iPod. The dealer charges $60........ $29.99 on Amazon.:rolleyes:

It is your incessant need to come into any and EVERY thread about their competition just to bash and mud-sling that gets old and makes people hate you. I like Android, but you don't see me going into every single thread on MR about the iPhone bashing it and spreading FUD because of that.

It could be ["Things I hate" by *LTD*], where you talk ALL about the things that bug you with the competition, and why Apple's version of everything is so much better.
