I would also check if your original GC sponsoring employer (Company A) is not involved in any fraud investigations by USCIS. In which case, USCIS can revoke an approved I-140 without any notice on the basis of fraud, which would automatically lead to your I-485 denial. I-140 online status may or may not change in such cases. Your case being in extended review is raising some flags. Do you know anything about the kind of extended review that was going on. Your lawyer on file, as well as you should get a copy of the notice. Make sure no communication was sent to the lawyer from Company A. First thing - try not to stress out about this. Really, your baby's health and your own are far more important than some stupid GC. Keep in mind that the less you stress yourself, the more likely the child birth will go peacefully and well.
Secondly, hire a good lawyer - it is well worth the expense and helps relieve your stress.
Thirdly, if possible, let someone else (such as your husband) drive the "discrimination" lawsuit if you think it is fit...helps give you some line of defense against the problem.
Regarding insurance, the employer must offer you COBRA. Also, not all insurance companies consider (or are allowed to consider) pregnancy as a pre-existing condition.
Keep the good focus in mind - let not this affect your baby. And at the same time, don't leave any option unexplored. There're plenty of suggestions in this thread. Ask your lawyer which ones you must explore...

I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to this new effort taken up by a group of people badly hit by the immigration delays or we can say immigration black out in U.S..

1) Find solution to employment based greed card retrogression
2) Labor delay in the backlog centers.
All the members of this non-profit organization are facing severe problems due to these issues. We have started the awareness drive and professional strategic help (lobbying) efforts have started for the new Comprehensive immigration reform bill due on the floor of the Senate and House in Spring of-06. To make a difference and to have the new law passed in the way the current visa retrogression & Backlog center delays cane be addresssed with the new bill, I would request you to please spread this message or forward the email to as many people as possible.

My friend recently came through EWR, he had no issue other than more waiting time (approx 1 hr). He just showed his AP & Passport. He was sent to other counter, upon which they asked only one question 'Are you the same person that it is displayed in the AP document' :)
Everything went cool with him. His I-94 is valid for 1 year from the date of entry.

The following are various ways to express some one�s dissatisfaction/agony and draw some one else (Government/Media/Public) attention.
1. Daily Fasting : One or more people would sit for fasting from 6 AM to 6 PM. One group would pass on the fire to next group.
2. Continuous Fasting : One or more people would sit for fasting 24 hours a day. Such people should not have health issues like Blood Pressure, Gastric Trouble, Sugar, insulin deficiency, Heart relates issues. This may cuase arrest.
3. Protesting : Conduct a rally with group/mass of people with immigration ply cards and banners.
4. Wearing Black Ribbons : People would wear/put a small black ribbon on their shirt pockets (Upper left side of the chest) and attend duties. We can draw people attentions. Such ribbon should have white color immigration slogan printed on it.
5. Distributing Flyers : Distributing Flyers/Handouts to people in respective areas.
6. Banners : Display banner/show outs in the Traffic Island Medians
7. Flower Campaign : Sending Flowers to respective people, also called Gandhi giri.
8. Silent Sitting : Sitting in front of USCIS silently (no talk).
9. Silent sitting in front of Senators house: Group of people should sit (kind of protest) in front of respective state senators. We can draw maximum MEDIA attention.
10. Sweeping Roads : A group of people would sweep roads by wearing immigration slogans jackets.
11. Organize Blood Donate Drives : Interested member would donate blood (We should explain to media, why we are doing so).
12. Rally in All Major Cities : Conduct a rally in all Major cities (where we have at least 100 members) at the same time.
We still have various other ways to express our dissatisfaction, however, they are little rude and could cause more issues.

So looks like only the renewal will have a delay. First-timers won't face much difficulties.
my point is if dates retrogress and if processing EAD's and AP's takes a long time getting a EAD might be easy in the first 60-90 days but renewals will become more difficult.
its ok for folks that are within their 6 yrs of H1b but for others it will be a big head ache. As someone already mentioned earlier, you might have to apply for your renewal EAD the day after you get your 1st EAD and so on.

2. However- get this- they retained the clause that you can apply for a GC and that this application will not affect visa issuance - and they added F4 the new student visa to this clause

We all admit, the we haven't served our birth land as much as we have served America. Maybe there is calling here amongst all the turmoil with getting GCs.
Our home country wants us back. I know we have huge issues back in India. Population, Politician :-) etc etc.

Can the wire transfer be requested online using ICICI's(or HDFC's) website ? Or do you need personnally do it from India ?
In my case, the request was processed at the local branch. I don't recall seeing an option on ICICI to do the wire transfer. But assuming there is, you should give that a shot. You might have better luck at the branch though .... RBI has the so called KYC - Know Your Customer rules for all banks and that may give you some leeway.

What was really pathetic - dependents of L1 visa holders were allowed to work, whereas dependents of H1 visas - the H4s, were not!
All they're left to do - if they don't qualify or have any interest in a high-tech field - is to listen to frustrations of their H1-holder spouses about this whole immigration mess!

I totally agree with Arunmohan- We H4's are not considered basic human beings here, we are not allowed to work ,may of us experience difficulty in getting a drivers license, we cannot have an independent bank account- literally we are considered as without life. I do wish I came in here illegally, at least i see hope for illegals in these bills - what do H4 Visa holders have to wait for !!!

Also, if we wrap the stoppers in the photo copies of the degrees that might show subtle disrespect to American learning institutions that gave you those degrees. On the contrary, these degrees are to be framed, if you want to. We want positive message e.g. stop reverse brain drain.
Stopper is a good idea because it weaves two ideas very effectively:
- Stop American jobs from off-shoring : use a stopper
- Stop reverse brain "drain" from America to keep America competitive : use stopper

where they mention that 100K high skilled immigrants have left US to go back to India, China and other countries.
