The November Visa Bulletin will almost certainly look exactly like the October Visa Bulletin. The Visa Office has already warned not to expect any movement until the CIS gets around to figuring out how many cases they have and the priority dates of those cases.

I have listened to a couple of speaches by Bernake in NPR. Basically that guy is completely in the blank on how to handle the economy. He simply says, we are in this mess, because the lenders were very lenient.
Had you left your first paragraph off, may be people would have paid more attention. To say that the fed boss is clueless shows that you have simplified the problem way too much.
Have you seen the BearStearns tumble and do you understand the cause and effect it may have had if Fed/JPMC had not come to its rescue? There is a very valid speculation that it may still have a ripple effect on all mortgage brokerage firms. For now, the Fed with its tourniquet with help from JPMC seem to have tried to stop the bleeding.
And regarding your solution, the market is in a deep trouble with the 30 year loan rates around 7%. There is a very high chance that it may go up because of the risks involved in buying mortgage bonds. This is amidst news that the housing market is yet to bottom out and it may continue to fall at least for another year.
Good try, even if I had a GC, I would be a little careful to jump into this market. Ofcourse, if I had a 30% down for a 250K home, may be I might get a good deal, but not many can afford a 30% down...

This is wrong. EAD can be issued when both of the following conditions MUST meet:
I140 has been approved
I485 application is 180 days old
You have no freaking idea what you are talking about. one should not open his/her mouth so confidently without reading documents from USCIS or talking to an immigration lawyer.

USCIS has opted not to use its limited financial resources to extract data from current systems and prefers to spend it on prospective systems that are years in the planning. For example, USCIS has not made corrections to the CLAIMS 3 system to capture data on applicants’ priority date information, country of nationality, and the preference category under which the application is filed that USCIS must review before the application is accepted for green card processing. (page 13)
Failing to correct the system annually results in hundreds, if not thousands, of wasted hours by all levels of USCIS leadership in trying to account for an often asked question by Congress, the Ombudsman, stakeholders, and others: “Exactly how many employment-based green card applications does the agency have pending?” USCIS still cannot answer that question today with certainty. I have noticed that most "overzealous" CBP officials are found in smaller airports. Large airports like JFK, DC, Miami, SFO etc have efficient and effective CBP officials - they are really busy doing their jobs and don't have time to overdo their job.

Shop lifting has to be the most cheapest crime our indians commit when they land here.. They think the stores dont have anything and try to put it in their pocket and go away..
This is not an accident. there is no justification for what this guy has done. but maybe he can be given a benefit of the doubt that he did a stupid thing, in the rush of blood. I dunno if he inadvertently tried to put something in his pocket , forgot and left the store...if that is the case the guy deserves a break...
if not i cant fathom the fact that a sane person who took so much effort to get here thro F1 or H1 or what not, had this cheap idea... :eek::eek::eek::eek:
I read in one of the posts that they forgot to bill that item and could have been caught. Most cases if u are buying so many items and miss one they will leave u...

This is not even good for long term due to hefty financial charges of insurance companies, you would not know about this until you buy one ,my sincere advice would be do not even get into this crap in US. these guys rip you off.
As I mentioned before Prudential charged 70% premiums as a finance charge every month and only 30% went to savings. It would never make sense and do n't listen to people who never owned these products before.

One of my co-worker was in same boat. His desi employer revoked his I-140 when he took fulltime employement in 2005. He got his GC finally.

Guys,
It looks like whosoever used the convenient e-file method for EAD renewal application got scrwed by USCIS.
It is ridiculous to receive the FP appointments after 1 month of filing and then for the same thing USCIS issuing RFE suggesting they did not receive RFEs.
IV core can we address these online EAD renewal issues to our USCIS contacts?
I mean people are using EAD for their jobs, their is no interim EAD and USCIS is not following the law for issuing the EAD within 90 days of the receipt date.
Here are my details:
PD: EB-3 I June 2003.
EAD renewal e-file: July 02nd 2008
Support docs: sent on july 02 nd 2008, received by USCIS on 07/08/2008
Paper receipts: received on July 11th 2008
FP notice: August 08th 2008
RFE for FP: August 08th 2008

No I did not forget the pain of that LC. And I'll never forget that in my life either. All that I said was we should prioritize our issues. If everybody says PBEC issue is the once that should get more focus, I've no problem with that
either.
All that I was trying to say is that now is the time to take care of retrogression. If we miss this chance
we may have to wait a long time. We will get more time to work on BECs down the lane. And nobody is
seeing BEC issue a non serious one. Everybody understands it.

In Orance county it's not the same.
My 6 yrs H1 and so license expired on Sept 11, 2006. I am still waiting for my 7th year I 797 document. I went to Laguna hills DMV and they denied accepting the renewal application, since I do noy have my 7th year paper.
They asked me to come back when I have my I 797.
