It may sound crazy, 2nd biometrics may not be good sign when dates are current. I had my 2nd FP in June09. I spoke with IO out of curiousity to know of any update- more so to know whether my case is pre-adjudicated (as there was lot of roar on recent preadjudication). IO told me my 'NC is pending'. I told her that around this time, last year, I was repeated told on infopass and on phone that my NC/BC etc is cleared and case waiting for Visa#. She that that is true but 2ND FP TRIGGERs NC and unless they get clearance they have to wait for 180 days before my case is ready for adjudication.
Is that how it works? I was under the impression if the name check is cleared once (or rotten after 6 months) we are good. Hoping that IO gave you a wrong information.

if you plan your life, you can overcome most obstacles, not having the GC included. it is folks who do not plan long term that are in trouble

Good point , Yes we need to give our response to it. but neither H1B says its only for INNOVATORS rather it says only SKILLED workers. Not even every PhD is innovator . May be in some circumstances the so said perspective is true but i dont agree with every point.
I work in a comp where mostly they have GC or Citz and in some cases they waited even 2 months + and then decided to take H1b's.
There are no enough Americans who can do the Job if these guys think its H1B and remove H1B every Job will land as an outsourcing . If not h1B many Outsourcing IT firms will find some way to temp bring IT pros and eventually outsource.
The Key point that IV is making is how much taxes we are paying and how good we are making to American economy. If they remove H1B ,then they understand how and what they have lost.

GO to Trenton DMV (theoritically every DMV), they will give you a DL till 6/20/2008. Due to these delays in H1b Extensions, NJ DMV's extending the DL another 90 days expecting that will suffice

If I were planning to use my EAD now or in the near future I would just cough up $380 and apply for a fresh EAD instead of chasing USCIS.
If it works, then it is money well spent compared to running back and forth to USCIS offices, calling them daily and all the painful aggravation involved.
I will gladly spend 380 instead of risking the possiblity of picking up Diabetes or Blood pressure due to stress.
Is it possible to do so ? Can we apply for 2nd EAD application even without first one, and having got the receipt notice for first one ? If yes then this is a good solution, but then who knows how long the 2nd one will take to be approved, making it a worthless effort.

I respectfully disagree, he is the president of USA and to its citizens, you might morally/personally declare him to be your president, but as long as your passport is not from USA you my friend are an alien (not extraterrestrial) living in the US of A :), please dont take this personally I am in the US too, and I got my passport recently renewed, and I had to pledge my allegiance in order to get my passport. is CIR good for us. Last time around when we discussed we concluded that it would overwhelm USCIS with work and they would not be able to attend our application for a while. So i wonder tagging along with illegals is going to speed our cause?

I have been thru this situation and luckly got the H1 extention on time to get it renewed the day it was suppose to expire.. I am sure this is going to be a problem for a lot of people in comming days due to mountain of applications to be processed by uscis.
