My parents are visiting me with visitors visa. They got the I-94 for 6 months. Can I extend their stay for another 6 months?. Will this affect their future entry in to USA?. Kindly advice what I need to do. Thanks in advance. What are the formalities I need to do to extend their stay?

Sir, first, not that I will listen to you, but you have no business telling anybody that IV doesn't need them, it's very serious when every disgruntled member decides to speak on others behalf and tell people who disagree with them they need to leave IV
second, do u have a crystal ball that allows you to know my feelings more than I do and put words in my mouth that i didn't say.. when i say that bodyshops participated in creating the disproportionate lines for india and china where do you get an insult or conclude that i want indians and chinese to disappear or that i feel i lack marketable skills..

I am surprised that this is even a headline news in TOI. SRK detained at US airport for 2 hours. So what? Big deal. TSA didn't ask him to sing or dance, but just questioned him on the purpose of his visit, which is part of their job.
US has got every right to protect her homeland and no one has got any right to question their procedures when it comes to national security. Because of such stronger measures there hasn't been a single terrorist incident in US since 09/11. The least we could do is to learn from them and implement such stronger measures in India, which by the way has become a playground for terrorists and anti social elements.

i am not debating you point of view, in fact i agree that with the darwinism concept and hope the down economy brings gc to good & talented folks. your rollercoaster ride was from Mar 2001 to May 2003, about 2 yrs. in the current scenario people are waiting for 8+ years and most of them like myself at least 3 yrs. the situation is indeed different this time around with labor substitution, L1, porting etc. causing delays for earlier people, that's why you see more venting this time around.

It is important to know the numbers of traditional labors filed in year 2005 before PERM was implemented on March 28, 2005. Does anybody have hard numbers on these ?

I know this guy who was a junior to me and reporting to me in India. I resigned and moved with another company and later moved to US. After an year I joined the same company which I was working in India. Now this guy, just because having some relation with the VP made some arrangement and came to US on L1 and applied under EB1 and got his GC in 1.5 years. More over he was no good as manager and a pathetic programmer. Also he did no good to the company actually lost a few clients and when he got his ass on fire he moved to other company and started working as a pathetic programmer with his GC

Some even questioned as to why these people cannot apply under "Multi-national executive" category, as they are "Multi-national" managers.

This is true "reuse"), also "reuse" the portfolio value (how can 3-4 managers from the same client account be responsible for x million dollar business) and crooked company attorneys make up a stellar resume and case to file for them. The attorney pay comes from the employee's pocket.

US economy situation is alarming. I doubt they will consider any immigration related bill until financial crisis stablises.2009 will be the key.Economy has to stablise. If not anti immigrants will block any bill citing the economy as the reason. If unemployment increases every month then any immigration reform is distance possiblity.Illegal immigrants are is getting publicity every year by rally for past 4 years but nothing happened. Pro immigrants are trying to block E-verify and some other anti immigration reforms. Anti immigrants are trying to block pro immigrant reforms. So any immigration reforms will be stalled until some compromise reached by moderates

I still find it pretty amazing that so many desis are attracted to Amway. I guess it is the allure of money (which rarely materializes) and being your own boss that gets people hooked. In some cases as you guys have pointed out, both husband and wife "hunt" together for unsuspecting newbies.
While I was an F1 student back in 2001, there were instances of people being driven straight to an Amway meeting the minute they landed at the airport. Apparently some people thought jetlagged newbies to the US would make for a quick sale.
