I have sent G-639 (notarized) in October 2010 and I have received a CD from USCIS with I-140 approval and labor that was used to file. I have given I-140 receipt number in the form instead of A#.

GC people is closer to citizenship and closer to get this permission.
Visa is not permanent.
So what is it now? Since GC people are closer to getting citizenship, they deserve to bring their parents? Or, the parents of GC holders are more deserving to come to the US?
You said those of us with bad parents don't need to comment. What happens to bad parents of citizens and very good parents of H1Bs? Where do they stand?

I work for Fortune 100 company and we are celebrating Diwali on Friday. There are flyers on all the corners and are expecting more than 500 co-workers for pot-luck lunch. And the best part, organizer and main activists are non-Indian. So its just another festival in the mix that everybody is looking to enjoy. I do not think there are good film institutes in India. I have interacted with many passouts from FTII and other colleges and found then lacking something. One has to travel outside India to learn and expose himself to the high quality film education.
How many of the directors you have named received any film degree?
I am not saying all Indian films are low standard compared to Hollywood films. We have trash films in Hollywood too. However the quality expectation and quality acceptance level of the viewers is low in India. Thus directors try not to push the boundaries so often.
You cannot blame everyone on budget. Indian films have big budgets by Indian standards. You cannot convert their budgets in dollars and compare with Hollywood. In my experience , I have found that by and large people in creative professions in India are hesitant to push the envelope and try to do something 'safe'. Very few can think outside the box and those few are able to produce world class work.
All this can change once viewers in India get more educated, critical and demanding. That will be the end of mediocrity and start of world class work.

I received my EAD last month. But no AP yet. However, i received an email from my lawyer today that.....my AP got rejected. The rejection letter is saying that I485 got approved that's why the I131 is rejected.....therefore, my lawyer is waiting for the I485 approval.....but my lawyer told me that I can expect my card soon.
I don't know how to react. The online doesn't have any update about the I485 status yet. They received my application on July 2, 2007.

Infopass appt for Interim EAD was not helpful at all.
They suggested the same that I did earlier, ie to fax USCIS hotline about my situation along with letter from emp saying that I am at risk of losing job.
I have done that several times, still no luck.
My EAD expires on aug 30th (yah, just 2 more business days).
Did everything in my hands, now just prepared to lose my job.
Surprising thing is I saw 2 soft LUDs on aug 25th and and 26th but still no approval nor RFE, case status still pending.
I know they are looking at my case, but doing nothing.
My wife's EAD was approved a month ago.
I asked my lawyer (from a big firm) if I will have a case on USCIS in case if I lose my job. She said, USCIS is famous for this kind of processing for 1000's still the cases wont stand against them.
I wld appreciate any suggestions/thoughts?

2) Called NSC, agent gave a fax number and asked me to provide Emp letter.

3) 2 weeks passed, still no reply, called up NSC again, explained situation that I wld lose my job if i dont get EAD extension by this month end. She opened a Expedited request and told me to wait for 10 days.
4) As a back up, I also took infopass appoint for next monday (90 days will be over by then)
Believe me, its not easy going thru these phases.
I do not know how to reach my congressman/senator, Anyone here, pls let me know. I am from fremont, CA.

There were many I-485 applictions from EB2 ROW from 2005/2006/2007/2008 pending (some stuck in namecheck, some just filled in rack and some waiting an IO). All these applications where getting approved in 2009. Recent trend 2008/2009 I-485 EB2 ROW apps are getting approved (meaning not many old apps left).
Going forward EB2 India/China should see forward movement (and if i can esitimate right big numbers for year 2010 if recession continues).
It could be true that those ROW app will be around 22k so no cut off dates adn there will be very less spill this year. So really slowdown in economy helped them a lot. Next year if economy continue to be slow then it may help india lot. but not 100% it will clear backlog.

Trust me my friend, I have seen it happen all the time, from large Telecom firm to Govt., its always there, most of the consultants just doesn't come to know about it, but the cut for the managers is there in some form, almost always. Why do each manager has a specific vendor through whom they want to hire most of the time? What else is the reason for the client to pay the consulting company $180/hr but they won't give 'valueablehurdle' anything more than $50-60/hr?
On a different note, now that NSG approved the waiver, most desi uncles, some of them are also owners of desi consulting companies will claim that they are the father of Nuclear deal. These bastards (sorry for my french) always oppose any GC fix and they tell their favorite congressman/senator (each has atleast one favorite politician for whom they do fund raisers) that gc backlog is not an important issue for the community. India Abroad, Times of India, rediff and other desi portals/newspapers will write 'Oliver North' style stories about these desi uncles knowing well that companies like GE etc put their weight behind the deal as it will create commerce to commerce over $20 billion/yr. But desi uncles/orgs will not stop claiming to be the father of nuclear deal. The fact is, most of these desi uncles made noise not because they wanted to do something for their country of birth, they are doing it because they think that if the nuclear deal passes, they can play middle man for US companies to sell the technology/material to Indian companies/govt. Most of the so called 'united voice of Indian-Americans on the Hill' organization's goal is to make big bucks by playing 'middle man' for companies wanting to sell technology to India. And as always, just as 'valuablehurdle''s client (paying $180/hr) Indian govt. will pay double the cost. These desi companies have squeezed blood of people waiting for gc, but now they think its time to move on to play big game with the big boys. These desi uncles/orgs are going nuclear.... time for Rediff and India Abroad to play Oliver North. Sometimes the line between capitalism and cycle of corruption is extremely blur. The problem is, these desi uncles/orgs claim to be representatives of entire Indian-American community, sometimes the entire immigrant community. They don't know more than 100 people, but they claim to be the leaders of all 2.5 million indian americans. Candidate leaves sponsoring employer and joins another employer (similar position/salary, etc.) New employer's attorneys send the AC21 letter and G-28 forms to the USCIS. The attorneys are very familiar with this, have handled lots of AC21 cases (Fragomen).
Is there any way the candidate can call USCIS customer service and ask for the attorney/representative's name on file, just to make sure that the G28 did get processed and the attorney name on file got changed from the old law firm to the new one? Would customer service share that information with the candidate?
