Let us discuss all our views in Latest CIR bill discussion threadrather than opening a new thread. I am not forcing you but I feel that it would benefit all of us to be in one thread becuase every member can get the latest views and news.
My intention is not to offend you in any way, It is a suggestion..
Agreed. Wondering if the moderators can merge this tread with the CIR bill discussion thread.

I think it should move well into 2005 at least for EB2-I to consume all the visas for FY2009. EB3-I might have to wait some more.

Dr Ona stands out
I wish they hadn't closed the blog, I wanted to post on there. I don't see any posts on the link you have provided for the H2B blog on WSJ. Am I looking in the right place?
No one commented at this H2B blog. This blog appeared without an article as compared to the other which had an article + a blog. BTW, WSJ has more articles on H2B then on EB GC issues.
Some blogs come and go like immigration bills on the Hill. Have writeups for all occasions.
Mercury News blog (http://www.mercurynews.com/politics/ci_7091661#recent_comm) is still open. Blog your issues/opinions; needs account. Keep in mind that Mercury News has published EB GC articles but more articles won't hurt!

Fact is you can always make smaller contribution using pay pal or make $100 one time contribution in every few months.
You have no intension to make contribution, so just try to find excuses for not contributing.
Might be thinking it not my fault. only if IV lowers contribution amount. You can keep thinking this and make yourself happy.
I shall say please don't repeat the same thing over and over again. ... if it doesn't work it doesn't.... yes... i will leave this forum soon, if things remain naggingly same.
And please remember it's bottom up that works here not top-down.

A bank wire from any bank in India is the simplest and cheapest way for you if you don;t have or need an nre/nro a/c. The limit has or is being raised to $200,000 from $100,000.
Also for tax purposes in USA, you can get a gift of $200,000 from your parents and upto $12000 anually from other people without a tax incident up here.(completely unrelated info to your current wire)
Also u can wire from any bank in India.
One simple suggestion which is less comlicated than all those above.
BTW you don't need rbi clearance.
You can send an overseas wire from india through your bank a/c where the cost would be minimal( only exchange rate diff and cost of wire($25-50).
Your parents can safely gift you $100,000 a year. Your bank only would need a letter from them saying its a gift.
I have tried this to repatriate my assets and it works all the time.
No need to open nre or nro a/c or anything.
ps. don;t entertain any solicitation on this site for reverse hawala or anyhthing as you don;t know who will cheat you!
just my 2 cents

Not sure if this helps, but this kind of thing happened to me 8 years back when my wife was pregnant. I asked my employer about insurance; he said I can continue coverage if I keep paying my premiums. Even if you have to pay a bit more than actual premium it should be better than not having at all. The other option is COBRA as some one already mentioned.
If that does not work out, call your current insurance company and ask them what are your options in the event you lose your job. You don't have to tell them that you're going to be laid off yet. As the wise say, we don't have to tell everything to the other person until it is really required to disclose. You might end up finding some facts that you probably are not aware of.
God bless.

You dont need an EAD, if you still have valid H1.
Correct
AC21 has nothing to do with EAD.
Correct.
However, if your H1 is expiring soon, and you have already used up 6 years of H1, you would need an EAD, because H1 extension beyond 6 years is available only for people who cant file I485 because of retrogression.
Incorrect.
If I-485 is pending then 1 year H1 extension beyond 6 years
Otherwise 3 years extension

One of my co-workers started me with a gun range membership...you can even find ones that dont require membership...just show ur drivers license and rent guns from the range & dont worry about carry permits...etc etc
Its the best way to enjoy shooting & the less expensive way too. Ever since Obama was gonna be in power...firearms & ammo prices have been going up.
But .22LR (best caliber for beginners) is still the cheapest...
- If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will carry guns-

BharatPremi/PavanV: I had to open an account here just to let you know that what both of you said is the voice of reason and it seems that this forum is just filled with people who have the attitude of attacking the person rather than the argument.
Folks, until you have a US passport in your hand, you can profess love for this country as much as you like but the bottomline is that you are not a citizen. You will not be treated like a citizen and you will not have the rights of a citizen. Even after you have the US passport, "legally" your allegiance is to the US but that is not true of what the US feels about you. Your precious naturalized citizenship can be revoked at any time but that is not possible for a natural born citizen. This divide is real enough that if you kid asks you, "Daddy, why can't you become president?" then you need to know it that no matter how white your brown heart beats, the country on whose soil you were born is the only one which gives you every single right that is given to all its citizen, NOT the USofA.
A. K. Mozumdar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.K._Mozumdar)
"In 1913 Mozumdar became the first Indian-born person to earn U.S. citizenship, having convinced the Spokane district judge that he was in fact Caucasian and thereby met the requirements of naturalization law then restricting citizenship to "free white persons." Ten years later, as a result of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in United States v. Bhagat Singh Thind, stipulating that no person of East Indian origin could become a naturalized American, Mozumdar’s citizenship was revoked. A decision on his appeal to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the revocation"
So, yes, you can kiss as much ass as possible, it will not bring your precious greencard any faster.
Jai Hind
Yes, unfortunately all of them lack the understanding of immigration, reasoning and height of ignorance is that they do not have a clue what is the definition of "NATION" OR the meaning of "citizenship".

I am following from the start of the original post. This was a post by a new member who appears to create rift among the EB2 or EB3. The reason I believe is he just want to incite in such a way that few other folks will respond and keep the thread floating. Later few other posts by himself were created with different ids. just observe the trend and you will notice it.
So folks dont respond any more and this rift creation will die down.

Lately i see a lot of new members coming up in the forum, with lots of questions about their problems that they are facing. And lots of good hearted IV members also give their diligent answers for them. One hand I am glad IV is getting new members, on the other hand i am wondering where were these members all these days.
Please don't get me wrong, As much as I like new members joining in the forum to get answers for their questions, I also would expect them to take part in any the activities or initiatives that IV is undertaking. Therefore I urge, every new member to volunteer in the IV activities and be an active member of IV and be a participating member, so that IV helps you and you help IV. Having said that, new members, WELCOME TO IV, post your questions and I am sure you will get good answers from many good hearts in IV.
got a red for my post from some anonymous. (comments - just a ,)

500 Eb1 numbers are unused
500 numbers spills to Eb2
There are no 100 Eb2 India cases and 50 Eb2 China cases and Eb2 ROW/phillipines/mexico is current
Now Eb2 India+Eb2 china uses up 150 numbers and
350 numbers spills to Eb3
Now there are 1000 Eb3 India cases from 2001 to 2003
Eb3 china,ROW etc there are 1000 cases fom 2003 onwards and none from 2001 to 2003
As spill over needs to go by PD Eb3 India takes of the 350 numbers and may be moves by 1-2 months and Eb3 ROW doesnt get any because no older cases.
DISCLAIMER: this is only illustrative and highly oversimplified, Actual scenario will have many many variables
OK thanks for this explanation. I think I need to get a few drinks now!!;) Thanks ags123
